So, is it really a "beta" test if its only 3 weeks before "go live"? Interesting redefinition of "beta" (although I guess its been in closed-beta for a while). 'Load Test' or 'Marketing Test' might be a better way of describing it. :)

I have a friend who is planning to play this (he says at least until Knights of the Old Republic comes out), but I haven't really felt any real desire to try it. The concept is interesting, since "your player character" apparently includes your 'captain' avatar, your ship and your customized crew members.

The Champions public beta was about this long as well. Really no surprise.

I get a daily invitation to the Star Trek beta, but there's nothing about it that interests me. Now, if the Lego Universe invitation happens, I'll jump at that, but this one just doesn't excite.

I also get my daily invite to keep testing out the beta for Star Trek Online, I think I messed with it for about a week, then proceeded to slam my head through the wall, since it was more enjoyable then STO.

If the game had been made by any other company, then it could be good, but Cryptic seems to make the same mistakes they did for Champions Online, and any other game ever. Frankly i wish i could get my six months subscription money back for Champions Online, the Beta was for more fun then the full game ended up being. Maybe I'm jaded from Warcraft and the various other MMO's ive played, but when you get that much massive rubber banding, and cross half the level, and 10 seconds later your back where you started, it becomes annoying.
